The following position is a part of IBM Canada’s EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. These outstanding entry-level IT, sales, and corporate positions are limited to students registered in a Canadian University or College co-op or internship program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who will be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM workterm.

IBM Business Consulting Services is looking for an intermediate to advanced level student to work as part of a team to develop, enhance, and support IBM’s internet and intranet websites, supporting more than 17,000 users in Canada and several global communities using a wide variety of web-based technologies.
We are looking for an energetic student who not only excels in the technical aspects of application management, but who have a keen interest in the business side as well — people who can help IBM build creative IT solutions to support all our major business processes in Sales and Distribution, Human Resources, Personal Computing, Integrated Supply Chain and more.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Web development for internet and intranet sites/portals
- Consultation with the customer on requirements and website design
- Performance and usability optimization
- Development or enhancement of website graphics/animations
- Development / update of website documentation
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, with excellent skills and academic credentials, looking to make a difference in a progressive IT services company. A forward-thinking individual with strong analytical skills, the candidate should be a strong communicator with experience working effectively in a team. The candidate should also be flexible and adaptable enough to perform application management using a wide variety of technologies, depending on changing business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Operating Systems: Unix, Windows
Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, SQL, Perl, CGI, HTML
Applications: Flash, Dreamweaver, Front Page 2000, Adobe Photoshop
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Students applying to this posting must be regsitered in a co-op or internship program for the length of the placement.
This position is intended for senior-level undergraduate students who will be returning to full-time study upon completion of the internship.
