The following position is a part of IBM Canada’s EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. These outstanding entry-level IT, sales, and corporate positions are limited to students registered in a Canadian University or College co-op or internship program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who will be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM workterm.

Responsibilities
Supplementing prepared written software specifications.
Producing high quality unit and integration tested software components using leading edge technologies.
Developing generic components.
Participating in code reviews on software developed by other DWL software developers.
Maintaining and providing production support – including on-call shifts – for released applications.

Qualifications:
Development experience using Java, XML, J2EE.
Experience using Rational RAD, Visual Age or WSAD (Websphere Studio Application Developer).
Experience developing generic components.
Excellent design and debugging experience.
Experience using design patterns.
Relational Database knowledge (Oracle, DB2).
Knowledge of front-end development in Rational RAD, Websphere Portal Server, HTML, JavaScript.
Strong Object Oriented background (OOA, OOD using UML) ideally using Rational Rose.
Experience deploying and managing applications on IBM Websphere.
Students applying to this posting must be registered in a co-op or internship program for the length of the placement
Minimum one completed work term
This position is intended for senior-level undergraduate students who will be returning to full-time study upon completion of the internship/co-op term
