The following position is a part of IBM Canada’s EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. These outstanding entry-level IT, sales, and corporate positions are limited to students registered in a Canadian University or College co-op or internship program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who will be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM workterm.

Technology products and solutions can be complex. At IBM we support all of our sellers with product and solution specialists who work with the sales team and are responsible for providing the product and technology information and solution design and recommendations, while our sellers, including our Authorized Business Partners, concentrate on opportunity identification, customer relationships and closing.

This position is within IBM’s Systems Technology Group with our Field Technical Sales Support organization which supports our sellers on IBM’s Mainframe, UNIX, Intel and Linux servers as well as IBM’s Storage products which attach to these servers. The individual in this role will be working at IBM’s Enterprise Technology and Demonstration Centre in downtown Toronto. This facility contains all of IBM’s most current Hardware and Storage servers which are used to provide customers and Business Partners with demonstrations, Proof of Concepts and Presentations which highlight the features and capabilities of IBM servers and Storage. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the Server and Storage Infrastructure and will work with experienced IBM Hardware and Storage Technical Sales specialists. Responsibilities will include assisting the IBM Technical Sales Specialist in setting up, preparing and delivering customer sessions, performing Hardware System Administration and Hardware installation. Education and training will be provided .

QUALIFICATIONS:
- An interest in computer hardware technology
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
- Ability to work well individually and within a team
- Self-starter who enjoys problem solving, systems design and consulting
- Ability to work with sales teams, partners, and customers, on a sales and technical level
- Any relevant experience with IBM or competitive server technology
- Desired degree programs: Engineering, Computer Science
- Completion of 3rd year
- Students applying to this posting must be registered in a co-op or internship program for the length of the placement
- This position is intended for senior-level undergraduate students who will be returning to full-time study upon completion of the internship/co-op term
