Tea processing methods
Web Info
Soil, climate and tea type are not the only factors that will affect the properties of your tea.
There are four main processing methods and all of them will create its own special form of tea.
The four traditional tea processing methods results in Green Tea, Black and Red Tea, White Tea or Oolong Tea.
Some tea lovers add three more tea types to this list: Pu-erh, Yellow tea and Kukicha.
It is also common to alter the taste and properties of a tea by adding oils, spices, flower petals or similar during or after the processing stage.
New aromas can also be achieved by mixing two or several tea types.
The temperature and how you prepare your tea will of course also influence the end result.
An ice tea can taste very different from a hot tea, even when they are made from exactly the same tea blend.
