The Role of Gender in Depression

I wrote this research paper much different than I have written others in the past. Usually I do not put much emphasis on constructing an outline or rough draft; I just get to writing the final paper. But this time I constructed my rough draft in outline form laying out all my information in the order that I wanted to present it in the paper. Then I edited and rearranged the rough draft to make it into my final draft.
It was much easier to make the rough draft than to make the final one. I had trouble transforming my rough draft into the final one. The process took me about five days. Usually it takes me two to write the whole paper without a rough draft. Therefore, I am not sure if constructing an outlined rough draft was a good thing or a bad thing.
When I was suffering through writing the final paper I joked with my brother that writing a paper about depression can make someone develop depression. I was sitting there staring at the computer not knowing how I wanted to say what I wanted to say.
So to help me out, my brother, who’s a high school junior, said, “Girls eat when they’re depressed. Guys sleep. There’s nothing more to it.” But alas, there is.
